Appointed by PJ Developments Ltd, Encon Associates have been appointed to carry out a Tree Survey, and also an Ecology report and a Transport Statement.
Encon Associates have been appointed to carry out 3 pieces of work in order to satisfy planning conditions for a new residential development in the village of Maresfield, East Sussex.
On visiting the site to carry out the tree survey, Encon Associates' Graduate Sustainability Consultant, Emily Kempson, noted that it was apparent that there were some rather impressive trees located around the site boundary, of which were definitely worth retaining, keeping the character of the site.
Pictured above: The site included an impressive mature Pine tree, that with some selective pruning could become an impressive feature of the development.
Protection of the trees
Due to the size of these trees, measures are needed to be taken to ensure that any future construction work does not impact the root systems of the trees. The tree survey report made recommendations to the protect trees from damage during construction, such as using an alternative method for digging the foundations, such as using mini-piles and beams that span over the tree roots.
