Since the introduction of The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005, it has been a legal requirement for all employers to undertake a noise at work assessment if any employee is likely to be exposed to high noise levels.

How does it work?

Firstly, we will hold discussions with management and members of staff to understand a typical working day or week. Operatives will be fitted with dosimeters, which measure the noise levels that they are being exposed to across their shift. In addition to the personal noise exposure measurements, a series of spot measurements will be taken during specific operations and around static plant/machinery to pinpoint noisy areas or activities, assist in identifying hearing protection zones and to determine the effectiveness of hearing protection provided on site.

The findings will be presented in a report along with advice on potential noise mitigation measures and advice on hearing protection provisions if required. A noise figure/site map displaying the noise levels associated with different areas of the site will also be included within the report. We aim to have the report issued within two weeks of the site visit.
