The Solution

creswick greave

Planning consent was granted by Sheffield City Council to demolish an existing dwelling on land bounded by Creswick Lane and Creswick Greave and the construction of 4 detached dwellings and a pair of semi-detached houses.  A number of planning conditions were imposed by the Local Authority including the requirement to provide details for the onsite landscaping prior to construction and the need to achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 rating.

Encon Associates landscape architect worked closely with the clients Ecologist to ensure the proposals not only gained the highest possible CSH credits under the Eco section, but also met with the approval of Sheffield City Council to discharge the conditions of the planning approval.

The existing site contained a number of mature trees which were able to be retained with careful design to ensure that ecological enhancement and landscape design could be married to provide practical design for this residential development.
