BREEAM AP Services (Accredited Professional)

Our highly qualified and accredited sustainability and environmental design specialists can operate in a collaborative role, which will include a BREEAM Sustainability Champion (formerly an Accredited Professional or BREEAM AP).

By appointing Encon Associates as your BREEAM Sustainability Champion, your company’s design team will be able to obtain additional credits. These extra credits are usually only afforded to schemes where our experienced consultants guide and lead the BREEAM process from RIBA Stage 1/2 onwards.

About the Sustainability Champion Role

One of the vital roles of a qualified Sustainability Champion (previously known as an Accredited Professional AP) is to enable clients and design teams to reach their recommended BREEAM rating. They will also help maximise the sustainability opportunities throughout a development project from an early stage.

In fact, a Sustainability Champion’s timely input and expert advice can have a considerable impact on the success and sustainability of your project. One of the advantages is that they can help you avoid making mistakes that could cause delays or huge expenses at your end. This is one of the primary reasons why we highly recommend that you appoint a Sustainability Champion early in the design process, ideally during RIBA Stage 0–2 or the Concept Design phase.

At Encon Associates, one element of our BREEAM AP services is to participate in the key design team meetings and offer advice as required. This ensures that you will meet all your BREEAM targets. Our team will also provide you with the knowledge and assistance you need to improve your chances of receiving three (3) credits or 1.56 % against the BREEAM overall score under BREEAM 2018 NC, or three(3) credits or 1.71% under BREEAM 2014 NC.
