Set against the monastic backdrop of Clerkenwell, the redevelopment of 42 St John’s Street breathes new life into a distinctive office building. With a design ethos built around the idea of “long-life, loose fit” workspaces, the refurbishment focuses on minimising energy use, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing internal comfort.
This multi-tenant space now benefits from significant fabric upgrades, improved daylight, and modern exposed features like ribbed slab ceilings and polished concrete columns, all contributing to a more inspiring, efficient, and environmentally conscious workplace.

Encon Associates was appointed to deliver a comprehensive package of sustainability services to help realise the environmental ambitions of the client and design team. Our input helped drive the project to meet key environmental and wellbeing performance targets.
