Encon Associates were appointed BREEAM Assessors for Willowfield Humanities College, achieving a Post-Construction BREEAM rating Excellent.
Appointed by main contractor, Bouygues, Encon Associates provided BREEAM expertise to help this project secure BREEAM excellent. With the emphasis on light and airy spaces that adopt a comfortable environment, both mentally and physically, this project achieved fantastic things.

BREEAM Methodology
The building was designed in a way that the atrium was to form a focal point and be the heart and soul of the school. Using BREEAM methodology, this project incorporated the use of natural daylight and quality levels of acoustics, all this contributes to the comfort factor achieved here

Encon Associates were employed by ourselves as BREEAM Assessor and Approved Professional on 3 contracts running concurrently in Sheffield. At all times through the project they were able to provide clear detailed advice on requirements to ourselves and our supply chain, and were able to offer additional services where required (including compiling the Tenant Green Guide Specification).
The use of the IES TaP for BREEAM portal has proved a useful tool in tracking the BREEAM process, providing us as a main contractor a simple and user friendly way to co-ordinate the BREEAM evidence requirements with the designers and our supply chain.
The team have promptly assessed evidence when received and provided detailed feedback to ensure any compliance issues were understood – we would have no hesitation in employing Encon Associates on our future BREEAM schemes.
