The Project
Quadrant Project Managers on behalf of Embankment Primary Care Ltd appointed Encon Associates to provide multi-disciplinary consultancy services in order to mitigate several planning conditions for the new build West Bridgford Medical Centre in West Bridgford, Nottingham. The Medical centre site is situated on a green field site with many ecological issues, therefore prior to any construction works Encon Associates were appointed to provide ecological support in relation to newts, amphibians, and birds to mitigate planning conditions, Legal legislation, and BREEAM.
A number of trees within the site were set to be removed, therefore in addition to ecological services Encon Associates provided arboricultural services in relation to the trees on site. Encon Associates were appointed to provide additional pre-start consultancies services in relation to Air Quality as a planning condition. West Bridgford is situated in a particular busy part of the city and resides within an AQMA (Air Quality Management Area). Encon Associates completed the Air Quality Assessment for the project to mitigate planning conditions and provide guidance for the project design.
The Result
Encon Associates main appointment was as the BREEAM Assessor and BREEAM Accredited Professional. As Encon Associates competed many of the related consultancy services this allowed the BREEAM Assessment to be very fluid in its delivery resulting in a quick assessment and achieved the award of the required BREEAM Very Good certification.
The medical centre is now open, named the Castle Healthcare Practice and the Musters Medical Practice, serving West Bridgford and the surrounding community in Nottingham.
