Commissioned by Anglia Ruskin University and constructed by the main contractor Bowmer and Kirkland costing circa 22.5m pounds.
This project is part of the expansion of the university designed to support science technology, engineering and maths (STEM fields) and allow the expansion of student numbers across the university.
The new ARU building will help boost the local market and economy by bringing more students to Peterborough. Additionally, the new building and its facilities will contribute to closer links with local schools providing immersive displays, talks and potentially evening classes via its newly created education spaces.
Contribution to Planning Consent: BREEAM Very Good
Encon Associates were appointed by Bowmer and Kirkland to deliver the BREEAM Assessor and Sustainability Champion services to ensure that the BREEAM Very Good rating was achieved. Encon have worked closely with Bowmer and Kirkland over a number of years delivering several BREEAM projects with two live university projects being assessed at the time of writing.
