Is BREEAM 2018 about to cause you a headache?

With BREEAM UK New Construction 2018 on our doorstep we thought it would be useful to make you are aware of the change in regulations that could affect your projects, causing unnecessary delays and additional costs. Here is a summary for you:

A few key dates that you need to be aware off

    • Wednesday 7th March – Launch of BREEAM UK NEW CONSTRUCTION 2018 scheme
    • Friday 23rd March –  Registration closes for BREEAM UK NEW CONSTRUCTION 2014 – BRE advise that assessors and clients should review projects, and register these as early as possible
    • Wednesday 21st March – Final chance to get in touch with us at Encon Associates to register your scheme for BREEAM NEW CONSTRUCTION 2014, reducing the risks to your projects. We can support with registrations and transition arrangements, and with over a decade of experience we are in a great position to advise you clearly and accurately.

 Register your projects, hassle free

    • It costs £250 to register your project (This is the compulsory BREEAM registration fee), and we will review and register your projects and at no additional cost beyond the registration fee to you or your client! Even if you are not ready to appoint your BREEAM Assessor, time is running out to be registered on the 2014 scheme. We highly recommend doing this as there could be additional work and costs associated with BREEAM 2018!

Written contractual obligation to meet BREEAM 2014

    • Projects with written contractual obligations to use the BREEAM 2014 version to meet planning or funding conditions can still be registered after the deadline, but here at Encon Associates, we are happy to review and advise on all issues relating to these changes.

 Pre-Assessment for BREEAM 2018

    • If you have already completed a pre-assessment under BREEAM 2014 and missed the registration deadline, the project would fall under the BREEAM 2018 methodology and you will need to re-do your pre-assessment against the new guidelines. By registering before the deadline, this could avoid this unnecessary delay and cost.
